Osijek, Croatia: Croatia’s first distribution centre for fruit and vegetables has opened near Osijek, eastern Croatia.
The refrigeration capacity of the centre, which has 29 cooling chambers, is 3,228 tonnes .
The Є14.6m euro ($15.4 million) centre covers 8,182 square metres. It will provide local agricultural producers the ability to store, sort, pack and sell their produce, the local county government said in a statement.
The local county invested Є4.6m in the project and Є10m has been provided by grants from Croatia’s EU-backed national recovery and resilience plan.
