London, UK: SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has strengthened its cool chain service with the appointment of an additional cool chain solutions provider.
SkyCargo has contracted CSafe to supply and service mobile refrigeration units used for its Cool Chain Premium Service, which specializes in the transport of temperature-sensitive products, including pharmaceuticals.
The contract will provide units for SkyCargo’s Dublin to Australia route, which operates through Dubai.
“With the growth and size of SkyCargo, it’s critical that we have the necessary capacity and flexibility to provide cool chain solutions for our customers that meet their specific needs,” said Moaza Al Falahi, vice president cargo business and product development, Emirates SkyCargo.
“The seamless movement of important temperature-sensitive healthcare and pharmaceutical products from one point to another is one of the key strengths of SkyCargo.”
SkyCargo offers three cool chain solutions, Basic, Advanced and Premium, each of which is designed to meet the requirements and specific needs of customers for the shipment of temperature sensitive products from fruit and vegetables to healthcare products and pharmaceuticals.
In 201/12 financial year, SkyCargo carried over 3700 tonnes of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and healthcare products through its Cool Chain Premium Service.
