Tesco expands home delivery electric fleet

Welwyn Garden City, UK: The first of 151 Iveco E-Daily chassis cabs has been delivered to Tesco, with the remaining vehicles to come later in the year. Iveco says it is is supporting the supermarket on its decarbonisation journey with its eDaily vehicles in a two-battery configuration specified to optimise payload and range.

This first new E-Daily enables zero-emissions deliveries to customers via its modular battery setup. Its electric motor efficiently provides strong performance with 140kW and 400Nm of torque deployable.
Capable of rapid charging at 80kW, up to 100 km of range can be reached in just 30 minutes, while a 22kW onboard charger enables Tesco to maximise charging from AC chargers at local stores.

The refrigerated body can take advantage of the 15kW E-PTO to cool perishable goods while on delivery missions. A second 12V E-PTO provides low-voltage power for additional cooling, creating a totally self-sustaining zero-emissions vehicle.
